> Fund a mammogram from £25 — breast cancer screening abroad, not NHS booking and not cancer research. Clinical exam, ultrasound and education for one…

## What your £25 mammogram gift includes

Breast Cancer Charity itemises every donation tier. At £25, your gift covers one complete screening at a mobile unit run by vetted local partners — not laboratory research or UK private clinic fees.

| Component | Included in £25 |
| --- | --- |
| Clinical breast examination | Included |
| Targeted ultrasound scan | Included |
| Health education session & TLC guide | Included |
| Mobile outreach unit logistics & fuel | Included |

## Why fund screening overseas?

In the UK, NHS breast screening invites eligible women every three years. In many low-income communities, women have never received a clinical breast examination. Breast Cancer Charity — a campaign of World Aid Network — closes that gap with mobile screening and education.

## Clinical Triage & Mobile Screening Logistics

In low-resource settings, mobile screening units equipped with portable ultrasound machines and clinical examination tables travel to remote villages, places of worship, and community centers. Female nurses and community health workers conduct thorough Clinical Breast Examinations (CBE).

If a palpable lump, swelling, skin dimpling, or suspicious asymmetry is identified during the CBE, the patient undergoes immediate on-site diagnostic ultrasound scan. Patients with suspicious lesions are referred directly to partner regional hospitals for free follow-up diagnostic biopsy (£75 tier) and oncology staging.

## Screening Access Comparison Table

Understanding how screening operates across different settings highlights why international outreach is so critical:

| Setting | Cost to Patient | Access Mechanism | Stage at Diagnosis |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| UK NHS Screening | £0 (Free) | Automated NHS invitation letter every 3 years (ages 50–71). | Stage 1 or 2 (~85%+ caught early). |
| UK Private Clinic | £150–£350 | Self-funded private appointment booking. | Varies by individual. |
| Overseas Low-Income | Unaffordable | Funded via £25 donor gifts through mobile outreach camps. | Stage 3 or 4 without screening (~70% late). |
