  • Sponsored walk or fun run

    Walk, run or cycle a distance that is a stretch for you, alone or as a team. October walks during Breast Cancer Awareness Month are popular.

    Tip: Share your route and progress photos to keep sponsors engaged.

  • Pink afternoon tea or coffee morning

    Invite friends, neighbours or colleagues for tea and cake, and ask for a donation instead of a ticket price.

  • Bake sale

    Easy to run at work, school, a place of worship or a community event.

    Tip: Label ingredients and allergens on everything you sell.

  • Wear pink day

    Colleagues or pupils wear pink and give what they can. It works well alongside a short talk about knowing what is normal for your body.

    Tip: Set a team target, for example 20 screenings (£500).

  • Golf day, quiz night or gala

    A bigger event with entry fees, a raffle or an auction can raise more, but needs a venue, volunteers and planning.

    Tip: Check the rules before running a raffle or selling alcohol.

  • Sponsored challenge

    A marathon, swim, head shave or a month without something you love. Personal challenges with a clear story raise the most.

    Tip: Tell sponsors why the cause matters to you.

  • Birthday or celebration fundraiser

    Ask for donations instead of gifts for a birthday, wedding or anniversary.

Fundraising at work

  • Ask whether your employer will match what you raise. Some only match gifts to registered charities, so check the policy first.

How to pay in what you raise

  • Online: use our donate page and choose "Enter a different amount". You will get an email receipt.
  • Cash, cheques or bank transfer: email info@worldaidnetwork.org and we will explain how to pay in through World Aid Network.
  • Fundraising platforms: we are not yet listed on platforms such as JustGiving because Charity Commission registration is in progress. Share our donate link instead.
  • Gift Aid: not claimed at present. Gift Aid explained.

Stay safe and within the rules

  • Collecting money in the street or door to door usually needs permission from your local council, so check first.
  • Raffles, lotteries and selling alcohol have their own rules. Check them before you start.
  • Label allergens on food, get permission from venue owners and consider insurance for larger events.
  • Be honest about where money goes, count cash with another person and pay it in promptly.
